The UAE announces the details of reducing working hours in Ramadan for the public and private sectors

Workers in the private sector will have a two-hour break each day during the holy month of Ramadan, according to an announcement by the country's Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has declared a decrease in the standard working hours for employees in the private sector in the country by two hours each day during the holy month of Ramadan.

Private sector enterprises can implement flexible work schedules or remote work during Ramadan within the established daily working hours.

This is part of the execution of the executive regulations of Federal Law No. 33 of 2021, which pertains to the regulation of labor relations and its revisions.

Official hours of the federal government sector employees

The Federal Human Resources Authority published a special circular regarding the official working hours of federal government sector employees during the holy month of Ramadan in the year 1445 AH.

During the holy month of Ramadan, the ministries and federal authorities will operate from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, they will work from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, unless their job duties demand otherwise.

The commission emphasized that ministries and federal authorities can maintain the implementation of flexible work regulations during the working days of Ramadan, as approved by them, within the specified working hours and with the option to provide flexibility to employees. She must work remotely on Fridays during Ramadan, with a maximum of 70% of the total employees of the organization, as per the established guidelines.

The commission expressed its highest congratulations and blessings to the leadership, government, and people of the United Arab Emirates, as well as to the residents, Arab and Islamic nations. They prayed for God to grant them good health and well-being on this occasion.
