The Australian government has issued new decisions regarding adding more countries to the 10-year frequent travel visa system.

According to what was revealed by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, during the special list between some Asian countries and Australia in Melbourne, the 10-year frequent travel visa system includes eligible ASEAN countries and East Timor.

It is worth noting that the recent summit, held in Melbourne, aims to strengthen strong relations and encourage tourism between Australia and Southeast Asian countries.

It is also noteworthy that for 10 years, the frequent travel visa system in Australia was limited to Chinese tourists only, and now, after new amendments, it includes citizens from the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and East Timor.

Countries added to the Australian 10-year frequent travel visa regime

The ASEAN and East Timor countries that applied for a 10-year frequent travel visa to Australia included the following countries:

  • Laos
  • Brunei
  • Cambodia
  • Indonesia
  • Malaysia
  • The Philippines
  • Singapore
  • Thailand

Holders of this visa can stay in Australia for 3 months per visit.

Extending business visit visas to 5 years

It is also worth noting that business travelers from all countries, in addition to businessmen from Southeast Asia, are now eligible to obtain a 5-year business visit visa.
