UAE: Thunderstorms, Lightning, and Temperature Decrease Expected Next week

Following a week of heavy rainfall and inclement weather, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has released a forecast for the upcoming week, spanning from March 4 to March 6. This forecast indicates a continuation of unsettled weather conditions across the country.

The NCM has alerted residents to expect rainfall of varying intensities, attributed to the influence of a surface low-pressure system extending from the Southwest. This system is expected to coincide with the arrival of a cold air mass from the west in the upper atmosphere, resulting in the formation of convective clouds.

Starting Monday afternoon, cloud cover is anticipated to intensify from the west. These convective clouds are projected to bring rainfall of differing strengths along with thunder and lightning, persisting throughout Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday, a reduction in rainfall is anticipated as the cloud cover diminishes slightly. Additionally, a decrease in temperatures is expected, particularly in the southern regions of the country.

Alongside the rainfall, fresh to strong winds are forecasted during this period. These winds are likely to cause blowing dust and sand, which may reduce horizontal visibility, posing potential hazards to travelers and outdoor activities. Furthermore, sea conditions are expected to be moderate to rough, particularly in areas affected by convective clouds in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

In light of the forecasted weather conditions, residents are advised to exercise caution and stay updated on weather alerts. It is recommended to take necessary precautions to mitigate potential risks associated with heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds. Travelers should remain vigilant and consider adjusting their travel plans accordingly, especially if venturing out to sea. Additionally, individuals engaged in outdoor activities should take appropriate measures to ensure their safety and well-being.

As weather patterns can evolve rapidly, continuous monitoring of weather updates and advisories from reliable sources, such as the NCM, is essential. By staying informed and prepared, residents can better navigate through potentially challenging weather conditions and minimize any adverse impacts on their daily activities and routines.
