UAE: Torrential Rain Floods Onpassive Dubai Metro Station, Disrupts Services

As a result of the torrential rains that fell early on Tuesday, the Onpassive Metro station in Dubai became flooded. Service interruptions were severe due to the inflow of water from outside the station.

The Onpassive Metro station in Dubai encountered flooding subsequent to heavy rainfall during the early hours of Tuesday. The influx of water from outside inundated the station premises, resulting in significant disruptions to metro services.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) swiftly responded by issuing a statement to apprise Dubai Metro users of the service disruption, specifically at the Onpassive Metro station along the Red Line. The RTA promptly arranged for alternative bus services to operate between the affected stations in an effort to mitigate the inconvenience to commuters.

Numerous videos circulated on various online platforms depict commuters navigating through ankle-deep water within the station premises. Witnessing this inundation, many passengers opted to remove their footwear and roll up their trousers to facilitate their movement through the flooded areas and ultimately exit the station.

The unexpected flooding left several commuters bewildered and unsure of the appropriate course of action to reach ground level after alighting from the metro at the station. The sudden onset of the flooding added to the confusion, prompting passengers to seek clarity on how to safely navigate through the inundated station premises.
