The UAE government announced a reduction in school hours during Ramadan 2024.

The UAE government has set the number of official school hours, which have been reduced by four full hours, and classes begin from nine-thirty in the morning until one-thirty in the afternoon, with the exception of Friday, when the study period is only two hours, starting from nine-thirty until eleven-thirty. The government explained that March 22 will be the last academic day for the second semester, and the third semester is scheduled to begin on April 15, after the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Many schools in the UAE sent a letter to parents informing them of the spring break, which will start from Saturday, March 23, until April 14.

A report is scheduled to be issued to students after spring break, and it is expected that this week will be the last for all extracurricular activities due to the month of Ramadan, which is scheduled to begin next week.

Schools in the UAE also announced the suspension of school canteen services during the month of Ramadan, and the school will not have food serving facilities, and water devices will continue to be provided throughout the school.

Schools also called on parents to provide young children who are not fasting with lunch when they come to school.

She also called on schools to ensure that students’ families are committed to attending the children on the announced dates, and to avoid encouraging them to be absent, stressing that students who arrive after 9:30 a.m. will be registered in schools as a late arrival.
