UAE: Abu Dhabi Hindu Mandir attracts over 65,000 worshippers on inaugural Sunday

The UAE has initiated a novel bus service from the capital to the temple, aiming to facilitate weekend visits to the recently unveiled BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi.

According to an official announcement, more than 65,000 devotees graced the temple's premises on its inaugural Sunday, which was open to the public. The day witnessed an influx of over 40,000 worshippers arriving in buses and cars during the morning hours, with an additional 25,000 joining in the evening.

Despite the sizable crowds, worshippers patiently queued in batches of 2,000, displaying remarkable discipline without any disorderliness. As they proceeded into the mandir, a profound sense of tranquility enveloped the atmosphere, enriching the spiritual experience for the visitors.

Numerous attendees expressed their delight at the temple's opening and commended the efficient management by the BAPS volunteers and mandir staff. Sumant Rai from Abu Dhabi praised the seamless organization amidst the vast gathering, emphasizing the satisfaction derived from the serene darshan experience.

Similarly, Pravina Shah from London, despite having a disability, lauded the exceptional care provided by the staff amid the bustling crowds. The meticulously managed visit left many, like Balchandra from Kerala, pleasantly surprised by the peaceful Darshan experience, eagerly anticipating their next visit.

According to the statement, visitors relished the opportunity to partake in collective prayers and admire the mandir's splendid architecture. The worshippers' colorful attire enhanced the overall spiritual journey by adding to the festive atmosphere.

Reflecting on the significance of the opening day, Sadhu Bramhaviharidas expressed gratitude to the UAE leaders and local authorities for their support, especially for introducing the new bus service. This initiative, along with the temple's inauguration, symbolizes the enduring friendship between India and the UAE, embodying cultural inclusivity and interfaith harmony.

Additionally, the UAE government's introduction of a new bus route (203) from Abu Dhabi to the Mandir underscores its commitment to facilitating weekend visits for devotees.
