Etihad Airways has entered into interline partnerships with five new carriers, expanding travel options for its guests across its growing global network.
The sources stated that Etihad Airways has entered into a number of partnerships with Kam Air in Afghanistan, Sky Express in Greece, Rex Airlines in Australia, Jeju Air in Korea, and finally Myanmar International Airlines.
Interline Agreement:
The sources explained that under this agreement, customers of all these carriers will receive mutually enhanced connecting flights across the carriers’ network of destinations,Travelers will also be able to book their entire trip on a single ticket, and clear baggage procedures smoothly to their final destinations.
Eric Dee, Chief Commercial and Revenue Officer, stated that Etihad will continue to expand its network to improve connecting flights and make them smoother, creating wide choices for Etihad’s guests, adding that the five interline agreements have made it easier for guests of all carriers, as these new partnerships provide A range of new options for Etihad Airways guests.
The sources pointed out that travelers from around the world have become able to travel to Kabul and from there to Afghanistan via Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi, while passengers traveling on Etihad Airways’ two daily flights to Athens have become able to connect their journey to 28 destinations in Greece and its picturesque islands in the Mediterranean Sea ,Sky Express Airlines.
The sources added that Rex Airlines provides passengers with access to 22 destinations in Australia via Etihad Airways’ destinations in Sydney and Melbourne, including Adelaide, Hobart, Canberra, Brisbane, and Gold Coast.
While through Jeju Air, guests can continue their journey from Seoul to 27 destinations across seven countries in North Asia, while connecting flights with Myanmar International Airlines will provide better access to Yeongun and Mandalay via Etihad Airways’ destinations in North Asia.
To date, Etihad has concluded 123 interline agreements, code partnerships and strategic agreements with airlines around the world. Reciprocal and expanded interline agreements are available through Etihad Airways’ sales outlets, website and travel agents.
