The UAE Customs and Ports Security Authority announced that it has updated the list of sellers prohibited from entering through its airports, in addition to the goods allowed to be entered with travellers. The Authority called on travelers to adhere to the updated list of goods and materials prohibited from entering through UAE airports.

The items forbidden from transportation are those that countries prohibit importing or exporting in line with your customs legislation, as well as those that are already limited and require prior approval from the authorities involved.

Goods that are not permitted to be transferred via UAE airports

What is the amount allowed to be taken out of the UAE?

It has been confirmed by the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) that travelers who are outside the nation and find themselves in possession of more than 60,000 dirhams in cash or other financial instruments are required to declare this amount to customs officials, and they are also required to follow the customs guidelines of the UAE upon their return to the country.

Customs smuggling

It means entering or attempting to enter or remove goods into or from the country without paying customs duties, in whole or in part, or in violation of the prohibition or restriction provisions contained in the Arab Gulf States' Unified Customs Law or other regulations and laws in force.

The "Digital Government" has identified six types of customs smuggling: not taking goods to the first customs department when entering the country, travelers not declaring commercial goods to be with them, and goods crossing the customs department without declaring them.

Amounts of money allowed to be carried while traveling to the UAE

The Federal Customs Authority called on passengers traveling through its airlines to adhere to and comply with the customs laws imposed by it, with the need for travelers to disclose the amounts of money in their possession, not to exceed 60 thousand dirhams or its equivalent in other currencies.

The Federal Authority in the UAE also clarified that if the amount exceeds the permissible limit, then the traveler must fill out the form for disclosing the amounts, noting that the law does not allow anyone under the age of 18 to bring in or take out amounts exceeding the specified amount, which is 60 thousand dirhams. Or its equivalent in other currencies.

The General Administration of Customs in the UAE also called on all travelers to review the updated list of restricted and prohibited goods, through its official website: (Abu Dhabi Customs website in the UAE).

The list that was revealed includes a guide to the restricted goods and the entities concerned with registration. It also specified the common customs declaration forms, preventing the goods from being taken upon entry into the country, or the goods attempting to bypass the customs office without declaring them to the relevant agencies.

It is important to note that Emirates, along with the majority of other countries, permits passengers to bring two pieces of hand luggage, such as a bag for personal belongings and another bag for a laptop or backpack.

Additionally, it allows for the utilization of a multi-compartment bag that has a maximum length of 56 centimeters, a width of 45 centimeters, and a depth of no more than 25 centimeters. Included in these places are the handles of the bag as well as the external compartments.

The updated list of items that are not permitted to travel through airports in the United Arab Emirates

It is important to note that the list of items that are not allowed to enter through airports in the United Arab Emirates includes fourteen items that are completely prohibited to be carried with travelers. These items include the following: (any and all types of drugs, counterfeit and counterfeit money, publications, photographs, oils, drawings, cards, books, magazines, and stone sculptures that are incompatible with the Islamic religion or public morals). Penalties for tax evasion in the UAE

The Federal Customs Authority in the UAE has demanded that travelers through its airports adhere to the standards and laws it imposes on goods that are prohibited and allowed to enter, so as not to fall under the penalty of the law and be exposed to penalties that include imprisonment for a period of 3 years or a large financial fine.

The authority also confirmed that the lists of goods prohibited from entering through its airports are constantly updated in accordance with new requirements, calling on passengers traveling through its airlines to check the official websites and the airline concerned to check for goods prohibited from entering.

Dangerous goods prohibited from entering through UAE airports

Security services inside UAE airports prevent the entry of dangerous goods, which are materials that would pose a threat to the safety of passengers.

Knowing that the goods that are prohibited from entering the UAE are the same as those prohibited by the European Aviation Security Authority, according to which strict policies are imposed during inspections using the latest equipment.

UAE airports prohibit the entry of alcoholic substances and their derivatives, in addition to lithium batteries, gas cylinders, atomizers, and compressed gas cartridges.
