Travellers flying in and out of Dubai and Abu Dhabi face disruptions today as heavy rain lashes the UAE, causing significant delays and cancellations.

Emirates Scrambles to Manage Delays:

According to an exclusive update posted on their official X account: indicate platform, e.g., Twitter, website, Emirates Airlines is experiencing multiple flight disruptions due to the adverse weather conditions. The company assured passengers they are "working hard to get all affected passengers to their final destination safely" and promised to provide further updates as soon as possible.

Etihad Advises Passengers to Check Flight Status:

Etihad Airways also confirmed delays for some flights departing from Abu Dhabi due to the heavy rain. In a statement, the airline urged passengers to "regularly check etihad.com for the latest information about their flight departure and allow plenty of time to travel to the airport." Etihad emphasized their commitment to assisting affected passengers with itinerary changes and reaching their destinations, prioritizing "the safety and comfort of our guests and crew."

FlyDubai Grounds Departures:

Adding to the travel chaos, budget carrier FlyDubai announced a complete halt on all departures from Dubai International Airport until at least 10:00 AM on Wednesday.

Passengers flying with Emirates, Etihad, or FlyDubai on April 17th are strongly advised to check their flight status directly with the airlines or via the Dubai International Airport website.
