The Sabah government provides job security for citizens

The Ministerial Committee for Economic Affairs held a meeting chaired by His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Muhammad Al-Sabah, to discuss a number of national issues, including improving people’s lives, providing the necessary means to confront high prices, and providing job security.The sources revealed that the ministerial meeting came in response to the royal directives to improve the lives of citizens and within the framework of government efforts to provide practical ways to implement that goal,The issue of financial increases, labor market affairs, and increased employment in the government sector were also discussed. The sources reported that the increased employment in the government sector has created high financial burdens on the budget, adding that the Prime Minister asked the “Manpower” officials to provide the committee with a report that includes the total number of expatriate workers in the private and domestic labor market, in addition to the numbers of workers in the private sector. The sources continued that, as a result of these statistics, decisions will be taken regarding demographics, in addition to approving the benefits that motivate citizens to work in the private sector in a way that reduces pressure on the “government” and thus the state’s public finances. The sources stressed that the political leadership is paying great attention to the issue of attracting citizens to work in the private sector, and is also making every effort to increase their numbers in this vital and important sector, explaining that the political leadership is working to create the basics that provide them with job security and stability, which makes this sector more attractive to them. The sources continued that the Economic Committee studied the issues of increasing the cost of living and child allowance, and paid sufficient attention to the relevant observations and opinions from all participating parties. They also indicated that the committee’s meeting with the economic authorities was to take proposals to reach the best possible solutions before approving them and expressing an opinion on them, pointing out that These proposals will be studied extensively technically to improve the standard of living of citizens. Amiri pardon for a number of inmates and immediate release: His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may God protect and preserve him, issued Amiri Decree No. (25) of 2024, requiring an exemption from serving the remainder of the sentence, or a reduction in the length of the sentence, or a fine restricting the freedom of those sentenced to some persons, on the occasion of the sixty-third National Day. In accodance with the Emiri Decree, the Correctional Institutions and Judgment Implementation Sector today released (912) inmates, while (214) inmates were immediately released, A decision was also issued to reduce the sentence for the remaining inmates, and some were exempted from fines, bails, and judicial deportation.
